What does ‘Kaynell’ mean?

‘Kaynell’ is derived from my full name, Kayla N Ellery, and is a brand gifted to me by my Mother.

Do you have a studio?

Nope! Natural-light and Mother Nature’s beauty is where it is at! This allows me to photograph in some of the most beautiful places – from the Gold Coast Hinterland to NSW’s most pristine beaches (Crescent Head, Hat Head and South West Rocks), and as far inland to Mt Kaputar NSW (surrounded by country landscape and seasonal cotton/canola fields).

What type of Photographer are you?

I am a natural-light lifestyle Photographer. I capture your life as it is, documenting your story, simple pleasures, natural moments and/or real-life milestones (engagement, wedding, pregnancy, birthdays, etc).

What style do you create?

Loving and timeless. We get the smiley and attentive shots, as well the candid and natural ones.

What does a photo session with you look like?

Laid back and easy going. The moment unfolds naturally and you are directed as needed. By the end, you will either forget the camera is there, or you will be so comfortable that you cannot wait until your next photoshoot!

What time of day do you photograph?

For outdoors, any time of day will work. But if we are going to the beach, early morning, late afternoon or an overcast day is essential. For indoor sessions, time of day is dependent on the location itself, so we will work out when the lighting is best for what we are trying to achieve and set a time from there.

Why have you chosen Photography?

I grew up with a camera in my hand and I have a natural eye for it, so I thought why not share my talent and love for it with the world? If it makes myself and others happy, sounds pretty ideal to me!

What do you love most about being a Photographer?

Photography is my creative outlet and I get to photograph the most amazing clients. It is a love and passion that I am proud of. Building on and developing my craft is what drives me the most.

Besides being a Photographer, who are you?

Throughout the week, I am a High School Teacher. I started Kaynell Photography while I was studying at Uni. Spending my week days with youngsters, I understand how precious time is. They grow up so quick, so make sure to capture their precious moments while you can!

Who are your ideal clients?

A good vibes Mumma, down-to-Earth engaged couple or a Small Business Owner/Entrepreneur.

If you are a good vibes Mumma, family is everything. You and your babes playing down by the beach, walking through the bush or having a normal day at home is what I love photographing most. I love to purposefully relish in those sweet moments that can pass you by.

If you are a down-to-Earth engaged couple, you are looking for a wedding Photographer who is cool, calm and collected. I will make sure your day is organised, easy-going and smooth-sailing, and that you are both relaxed, comfortable and having a wonderful time, all while capturing beautiful and timeless photos you can cherish forever.

If you are a Small Business Owner or Entrepreneur, then we are a team. I love seeing the passion you have for what you do. Together we make a plan to create something magical and unique for you and your business.

What would working together look like?

All communication is done via online correspondence. We chat about what you have in mind for a Photoshoot and then set a date. On the day of your Photoshoot, we capture all your shots and then shortly after, your online gallery will be sent to your email. Then our time working together will come to a close, with a hope to see you again in the near future.
